2014年3月、最終的にイタリアを離れることになったため、大学で知り合った友人が南部カンパニア州カゼルタにあるカゼルタ宮殿を最後に案内してくれました。
In March 2014, as I was preparing to leave Italy, a friend I had met at university kindly showed me around the Royal Palace of Caserta in Caserta, Campania, as one last memorable visit.
Nel marzo del 2014, dovendo lasciare l’Italia, un’amica conosciuta all’università mi ha gentilmente accompagnato alla Reggia di Caserta, a Caserta, in Campania, regalandomi un’ultima visita memorabile.
2012年から2014年頃にかけて、勉強を兼ねてローマとその近郊の歴史的遺跡を巡りました。
From around 2012 to 2014, I visited historical sites in Rome and its surrounding areas, as part of my studies.

2010年から2012年まで、アンティーク家具修復コースのある学校に通いました。滞在先の友人でもある大家さんに紹介していただいた、近所の家具修復工房で働くお姉さんに薦められた学校でした。そこで生徒が制作した作品は、学校で開催する展示会に出展する機会もあり、制作した箱は大家さんへプレゼントしました。
From 2010 to 2012, I attended a school with an antique furniture restoration course, recommended by a woman working at a nearby furniture restoration workshop, who was introduced to me by my landlord, a friend of mine. Students' works were exhibited at exhibitions held by the school. I gave my landlord a wooden inlay box that I made as a gift.
Dal 2010 al 2012 ho frequentato una scuola che offriva un corso di restauro di mobili antichi, su consiglio di una signora che lavorava in un laboratorio di restauro nelle vicinanze e che mi era stata presentata dalla mia padrona di casa, che è anche una mia amica. I lavori realizzati dagli studenti venivano esposti nelle mostre organizzate dalla scuola. La scatola intarsiata in legno che avevo realizzato l’ho poi regalata alla mia padrona di casa.

2010年の夏、イタリアの友人に勧められてキアンチャーノ・テルメを訪れました。そこで手頃な宿を見つけて三泊し、その間に周囲にある町、モンテプルチアーノ、ピアンツァ、チェトーナ、そしてキウージを巡りました。友人から「チェトーナは特に美しいから、ぜひ行くべき」と聞いていましたが、実際に訪れてみると、その言葉のとおり、とてもかわいらしく、心がほっと安らぐような癒しの町でした。
In the summer of 2010, I visited Chianciano Terme at the recommendation of my Italian friend. I found an affordable place to stay and spent three nights there, and I visited the nearby towns of Montepulciano, Pienza, Cetona, and Chiusi. My friend had told me, “You should definitely visit Cetona — it’s especially beautiful,” and when I finally went, I found the town exactly as she said: charming, peaceful, and filled with a gentle sense of comfort.
Nell’estate del 2010 ho visitato Chianciano Terme su consiglio di un’amica italiana. Ho trovato un alloggio economico e ci ho trascorso tre notti, visitando anche le vicine città di Montepulciano, Pienza, Cetona, e Chiusi. La mia amica mi aveva detto: “Dovresti assolutamente visitare Cetona, è particolarmente bella.” E quando finalmente ci sono andata, ho scoperto che aveva proprio ragione: una cittadina molto carina, tranquilla e rilassante, che infonde una dolce sensazione di pace.

キアンチャーノ・テルメで、午前中にバス停へ向かって歩いていると、二重の虹がかかっているのを見つけました。たまたま居合わせた人達も集まって来て、皆、珍しそうに眺めていました。私自身、二重虹を見たのも初めてでしたが、さらに驚いたのは、虹のふもとがまるで自分のすぐ手前、わずか数メートルのところにあるように見えたことです。まさに人生で最も「奇跡」に近い光景でした。朝の澄んだ空気の中、さまざまな条件が重なって生まれた瞬間だったと思いますが、その光景は今でも強烈な印象として心に残っています。
While walking toward the bus stop one morning in Chianciano Terme, I suddenly noticed a double rainbow stretching across the sky. A few people who happened to be nearby gathered around as well, all looking at it curiously.It was the first time I had ever seen a double rainbow, but what surprised me even more was that the base of the rainbow looked as if it were right in front of me—just a few meters away. It felt like witnessing one of the closest things to a miracle in my life. In the fresh morning air, with so many conditions aligning at just the right moment, the scene left a strong impression on me, one that remains vivid even now.
Mentre camminavo verso la fermata dell’autobus una mattina a Chianciano Terme, notai all’improvviso un doppio arcobaleno che attraversava il cielo. Anche alcune persone che si trovavano lì vicino si fermarono a guardarlo, incuriosite.
Era la prima volta che vedevo un doppio arcobaleno, ma ciò che mi sorprese ancora di più fu che la base dell’arcobaleno sembrava trovarsi proprio davanti a me, a pochi metri di distanza. Fu uno dei momenti che più si avvicinano a un “miracolo” nella mia vita. Nell’aria limpida del mattino, con tante condizioni che si erano allineate nel modo giusto, quella scena mi lasciò una forte impressione, che rimane vivida ancora oggi.

2009年、夏頃から滞在していたイタリアの家の大家さんは、とても優しく寛大な方で、誰に対しても分け隔てなく親切に接していました。私にも家族のように温かく接してくださり、そのような方に出会えたことは本当に幸運でした。長い年月が経った今でも変わらず友人として迎えてくださり、心の底から深く感謝しています。
In 2009, the landlady of the place where I stayed in Italy from around the summer was incredibly kind and generous. She treated everyone with the same warmth and was like family to me. I feel truly fortunate to have met someone like her. Even after all these years, she continues to welcome me as a friend, and I am deeply grateful from the bottom of my heart.
Nel 2009, la padrona di casa presso cui alloggiavo in Italia dall’estate era incredibilmente gentile e generosa. Era affettuosa e disponibile con tutti, senza alcuna distinzione, e con me si comportava come se fossi parte della sua famiglia. Incontrare una persona così è stata una vera fortuna.Anche dopo tutti questi anni continua ad accogliermi come un’amica, e gliene sono profondamente grata dal profondo del cuore.

学校のプログラムで、ある教会の礼拝堂を修復する機会に恵まれ、私の希望で毎週末、友人がミサへ連れて行ってくれました。それはまるで、天使がそっと差し出してくれた「幸運」と「チャンス」のようでした。「探しなさい。そうすれば見つかる」や「目から鱗が落ちる」といった言葉が、実感として胸に落ちていくような時期でした。友人たちとの出会いに感謝しつつ、自然体でボランティア活動に取り組むその姿を、心から尊敬しています。
Through a school program, I had the opportunity to restore a chapel in a church, and at my request, a friend kindly took me to Mass every weekend. It felt as if an angel had gently offered me a moment of “good fortune” and “possibility.” Phrases like “Seek and you shall find” and “the scales fell from my eyes” began to resonate with real meaning during that time. I’m deeply grateful for the friends I met there, and I truly admire the natural, sincere way she devotes herself to the volunteer work.
Grazie a un programma scolastico, ho avuto l’opportunità di restaurare la cappella di una chiesa e, su mia richiesta, un’amica mi accompagnava gentilmente alla Messa ogni fine settimana. È stato come se un angelo mi avesse offerto con delicatezza un momento di “fortuna” e “possibilità”. In quel periodo, frasi come “Cercate e troverete” e “mi si aprirono gli occhi” hanno iniziato a risuonare in me con un significato autentico. Sono profondamente grata per l’incontro con le amiche che ho conosciuto lì e ammiro sinceramente il modo naturale e sincero con cui lei si dedica al volontariato.

ルネサンス芸術に憧れて留学を志しましたが、学校が休みのシーズンに入っても、旅費が高く日本になかなか帰ることができないため、その間は、友人の親切な招待に甘えたり、美術館巡りを兼ねて一人旅などをして過ごしていました。
I went abroad to study because I was fascinated by Renaissance art , but even when the school went on break, the airfare was expensive for me to return to Japan. So,I stayed with friends who kindly invited me, and I also spent my days traveling alone while visiting various museums.
Spinta dal fascino dell’arte rinascimentale, decisi di studiare in Italia; tuttavia, anche quando la scuola entrò nella pausa scolastica, il costo del volo era caro per poter tornare in Giappone. In quel periodo sono stata ospite di amici che mi avevano gentilmente invitata e ho trascorso il tempo viaggiando da sola e visitando vari musei.
2003年の夏、夏休みを利用して受講したローマのイタリア語学校で出逢ったクロアチアの友人。
翌年の夏には、リゾート地ザダルから首都ザグレブまで観光地をいろいろと案内してくれました。ご家族や親戚の方にも大変お世話になり感謝しています。刺激的で新鮮でまったく新しい世界を感じました。
In the summer of 2003, I met a Croatian friend at an Italian language school in Rome, which I attended during my summer vacation. At her invitation and my wish, I visited Croatia the following summer. She showed me around many places, from the resort town of Zadar to the capital city, Zagreb. Her family and relatives were also incredibly kind to me, and I’m truly grateful for that. That journey was exciting and refreshing, and it opened my eyes to a completely new world.

After staying in Croatia, I traveled with a friend by train from Zagreb to Milan, and then visited Pisa, Florence, and Rome.

2003年の冬、知人を頼ってフランス・パリを訪れました。滞在中は、ヴェルサイユ宮殿やルーヴル美術館、オルセー美術館、ポンピドゥー・センターなどを巡り、アート作品の鑑賞に時間を費やしました。
In the winter of 2003, I visited Paris, France, as a guest of a friend who lived there. During my stay, I visited places such as the Palace of Versailles, the Louvre Museum, the Musée d’Orsay, and the Centre Pompidou, spending much of my time appreciating various works of art.
Nell’inverno del 2003 ho visitato Parigi, in Francia, ospite di un’amica che viveva lì. Durante il mio soggiorno ho visitato il Palazzo di Versailles, il Museo del Louvre, il Musée d’Orsay e il Centre Pompidou, trascorrendo molto tempo ad ammirare le numerose opere d’arte.

Winged Victory of Samothrace (c. 190 BC, marble, Louvre Museum) Discovered in 1863 and placed on a base shaped like the prow of a ship, this statue of the Goddess of Victory is believed to commemorate a naval triumph.The wind lifts the many folds of her garments, while the seawater‑soaked fabric clings to her skin, delicately revealing the contours of her body. パリのアルマ橋トンネル近くにあるモニュメント、自由の炎。
このモニュメントは、ニューヨークの自由の女神像が掲げるトーチを原寸大で再現したもので、フランスとアメリカの友好の象徴とされています。
1997年、アルマ橋下のトンネルで起きた事故によりダイアナ元皇太子妃が亡くなった後、この場所には多くの人々が訪れ、自然と彼女を悼む場となりました。2019年には、この地は正式に「ダイアナ広場」と名付けられました。私自身も2003年にこの地を訪れ、ダイアナさんが神のもと安らぎに包まれるよう心から祈りを捧げました。
The Flame of Liberty, located near the Alma Tunnel in Paris, is a full-scale replica of the torch held by the Statue of Liberty in New York and is regarded as a symbol of Franco‑American friendship.
Following the fatal accident in the tunnel beneath the Alma Bridge that claimed the life of Princess Diana in 1997, the monument became an unofficial memorial site visited by many people. In 2019, the area was officially named Place Diana.
I myself visited the site in 2003 and prayed for her peaceful rest in God’s presence.
La Fiamma della Libertà, situata vicino al tunnel dell’Alma a Parigi, è una replica a grandezza naturale della torcia tenuta dalla Statua della Libertà a New York ed è considerata un simbolo dell’amicizia franco‑americana.
Dopo il tragico incidente nel tunnel sotto il ponte dell’Alma, in cui perse la vita la principessa Diana nel 1997, il monumento divenne un luogo di commemorazione informale visitato da molte persone. Nel 2019, l’area è stata ufficialmente denominata Place Diana.
Nel 2003 ho visitato anch’io questo luogo e ho pregato perché lei possa riposare in pace alla presenza di Dio.

I visited Christmas of 2002 in Sweden, where I experienced the world of –40 degrees for the first time in my life. The fantastic winter scenery was like a fairy tale, wrapping me in a sense of wonder. I am deeply grateful to my friend who welcomed me into a warm home and a kind family.
Ho visitato il Natale del 2002 in Svezia, dove ho vissuto per la prima volta l’esperienza di un mondo a –40 gradi. I paesaggi invernali incantati sembravano usciti da una fiaba e mi hanno avvolto in una sensazione di meraviglia. Sono profondamente grata alla mia amica che mi ha accolto in una casa calda e in una famiglia gentile.

The townscape of Assisi, with its pale stone buildings, exudes a unique atmosphere that gently calms the hearts of those who visit. It gives me a warm, mysterious feeling, as if my heart were being purified.

The Etruscan and Roman Ruins in Fiesole, a town near Florence. The Etruscans were a group of city-states that flourished in central Italy from the 8th century BC to the 1st century BC. Fiesole was a town founded by the Etruscans, who lived before the ancient Romans.
Within the archaeological area, you can find the remains of temples, Roman baths, and a Roman theater, allowing visitors to see ruins from both the Etruscan and Roman periods. Next to the site stands an archaeological museum that exhibits artifacts from both the Etruscans and the Romans.
L'area archeologica di Fiesole ,una città vicino a Firenze. Gli Etruschi erano un gruppo di città-stato che fiorirono nell’Italia centrale dall’VIII secolo a.C. al I secolo a.C. Fiesole fu una città fondata dagli Etruschi, che vissero prima degli antichi Romani. Nell’area archeologica si possono trovare i resti di templi, terme romane e un teatro romano, permettendo ai visitatori di ammirare rovine sia del periodo etrusco che di quello romano. Accanto al sito si trova un museo archeologico che espone reperti sia etruschi che romani.

初めてのイタリア。学校のアパートでスウェーデンの友人と出逢えたことは幸運でした。いろいろ教えてもらい大変助かりました。過ごした時間は貴重な思い出です。
My first time in Italy, I was lucky to meet a Swedish friend at the school apartment. She taught me many things and was very helpful. The time we spent together remain a treasured memory.
La mia prima volta in Italia. È stata una fortuna incontrare un’amica svedese nell’appartamento della scuola. Mi ha insegnato molte cose ed è stata di grande aiuto. Il tempo trascorso insieme rimane un ricordo prezioso.

東京で通っていた美術学校で偶然目にしたイタリアの修復学校のパンフレット。それが修復の世界に興味を持つきっかけとなりました。フィレンツェのアート系インターナショナルスクールに通いながら、街を歩くだけでルネサンス芸術に触れられる日々は贅沢な時間であり、まるで夢のようでした。
When I was studying at an art school in Tokyo, I happened to come across a pamphlet about an Italian restoration school. After seeing the pamphlet, I became interested in restoration. While attending an international school in Florence, simply walking through the city and being surrounded by Renaissance art was a truly luxurious experience—it felt like a dream.
Quando studiavo in una scuola d’arte a Tokyo, mi capitò di vedere un opuscolo di una scuola di restauro italiana. Quell’incontro suscitò il mio interesse per il restauro. Frequentando una scuola internazionale a Firenze, bastava camminare per la città per essere circondato dall’arte rinascimentale: era un’esperienza davvero preziosa, che sembrava un sogno.

東京の美術学校で勉強していた頃、現代アートについて理解しようとたくさんの展示会に行きました。その中でもヨーゼフ・ボイスについての展示会が印象的でした。
When I was studying at an art school in Tokyo, I went to many exhibitions to understand contemporary art. Among them, the exhibition about Joseph Beuys was particularly impressive.
Quando studiavo in una scuola d'arte a Tokyo, andavo a molte mostre per comprendere l’arte contemporanea. Tra queste, la mostra su Joseph Beuys fu particolarmente impressionante.

～アートを学ぶきっかけ～
1994年の秋頃、何人かの友人と栃木県をドライブしていた際、高速道路のサービスエリアに忘れ物をしてしまうという事がありました。
引き返して売店の人にたずねると、拾って届けてくれた方がいて連絡先が置いてありました。その方に連絡をしてお礼をすると、アート作品が載ったパンフレットを送ってくださり、そこで芸術家のご夫妻であることを知りました。写真からでさえ異次元からメッセージを発しているかのようなご夫妻の作品に感化され、私も芸術を本格的に学びたいと思うきっかけとなりました。空から羽が舞い降りて来たような出来事であり、浮島彫刻スタジオの片桐さん、ケイトさんご夫妻との出逢いに感謝しています。
～The story that led me to study art～
Around the fall of 1994, I realized I left something behind at a service area on the highway, while driving with some friends in Tochigi prefecture in Japan.
We turned back and asked at the shop there. Fortunately, someone had found the item and left it at the shop, along with their contact information.
When I contacted them and thanked them, they kindly sent me a pamphlet with some of their art works, and I knew that they were artists. I was inspired by their works, which seemed to send messages from another dimension even through the photographs. It felt as if a feather had fallen from the sky, guiding me to studying art. I am grateful to have gotten to know Mr.Katagiri and his wife Kate of Ukishima Sculpture Studio.
～La storia che mi ha portato a conoscere l'arte～
Verso l'autunno del 1994, mentre viaggiavo in auto con alcuni amici attraverso la prefettura di Tochigi, mi accorsi di aver dimenticato qualcosa in un'area di servizio sull'autostrada.
Tornammo indietro e chiesi al negozio lì. Fortunatamente, qualcuno aveva trovato l'oggetto e lo aveva lasciato al negozio, insieme alle proprie informazioni di contatto.
Quando li contattai per ringraziarli, mi inviarono gentilmente un opuscolo con alcune delle loro opere d’arte. Fu allora che scoprii che erano artisti.
Rimasi profondamente colpito dalle loro opere. Anche attraverso le fotografie, sembravano trasmettere messaggi da un'altra dimensione.
Fu come se una piuma fosse caduta dal cielo, guidandomi verso un nuovo cammino: quello dello studio dell’arte.
Sono sinceramente grata di aver conosiuto il signor Katagiri e sua moglie Kate, dello Ukishima Sculpture Studio.
